Is it all in our genes or is there something we can do to age gracefully? Part one of the two part series will look at the practical concerns of aging. How do we ensure that aging is as planned and purposeful as other stages of our lives? Part two will be all about "getting over, getting older" and how to enjoy life regardless of what age you are!

Terry Black, author of Caring is Not Enough
Terry Black has cared for elders as a Registered Nurse for more than 42 years. Her book Caring Is Not Enough serves as a guidebook for "last wishes and personal records", ensuring that financial, legal and administrative questions have been answered and are available when a family member is gravely ill or dying. Terry has lectured nationally about end of life issues for many years.

Anne Hinton, Director
Department of Adult and Aging Services

Anne Hinton offers over 30 years of experience in gerontology, including long tenures with Catholic Charities, the City of South San Francisco and Institute on Aging. She serves as the Chair of the California Long Term Care Coalition and is a past President of the Board of Directors of the In-Home Supportive Services Consortium of San Francisco. Anne has also served as past President of the Multipurpose Senior Services State Association and the Linkages State Association. She has a Masters degree in Education and Gerontology.
